Twins end 2026 season on winning note. Now what?

The Twins won their final series of the 2026 season over the Texas Rangers, including a 6-4 win on Sunday. The Twins wrap things up with a 77-85 record, good enough for third place in the American League Central. Was it a good season? In many ways, yes. After the Twins traded away all of... Twins win 8-0, split series with Halos

With nothing at stake, the Twins pulled off a convincing win on Sunday by beating the Los Angeles Angels, 8-0, to earn a split of the four-game series. The Halos walked-off the Twins twice while Minnesota shut out the California club twice. It should’ve been a sweep, given that the Angels are the worst team... Continue Reading »

Twins lose to Royals, Dobnak all over again. Ugh

Let’s give credit where credit is due: Twins ownership approved a plan to go out and get two relievers and a starting pitcher for the team’s stretch run, and now it’s up to Manager Derek Shelton and the players to deliver on that additional support. And right now that is not happening. The Twins lost... Continue Reading »

Bullpen finally shows up to give Twins series win over Rockies

The three-game series with the Colorado Rockies put the Twins’ spit and baling wire bullpen under the microscope, and the results are still a work in progress. The bullpen coughed up multiple runs on Friday and Saturday, but on Sunday Andrew Morris, Anthony Banda and Yoendrys Gomez — I think the Twins have found a... Continue Reading »

For the Twins, a victory that doesn’t get much sweeter. Here’s why

Telling the schoolyard bully to shove it with a 4-2 win seems pretty sweet to me. And that’s exactly what happened to the Twins on Saturday as the “bully” emerged in the form of the Boston Red Sox’s Wilson Contreras. Wilson knocked over Kody Clemens with a head-first slide into first base, then appeared to... Continue Reading »

Guess what? The Twins have another 1-run win

I woke up Saturday morning and nearly spat out my coffee after I learned that Twins starting pitcher Taj Bradley — by far the team’s best pitcher in the early going — had landed on the 15-day injured list. All you can do is laugh is what I intended to write this evening because the... Continue Reading »

It’s the bullpen, stupid

Despite the lack of clutch hitting and terrible defense, the bullpen remains the Twins’ biggest challenge, and again it wasn’t quite up to the task on Sunday as Minnesota was swept 7-4 by the Cincinnati Reds. What isn’t a problem for these Twins? Starting pitching. In the Reds series, Joe Ryan made a quality start,... Continue Reading »

Twins drop first series since home opener

The Twins have lost three straight games, including their first series loss since the home opener versus the Tampa Bay Rays. The series loss came at the hands of the Cincinnati Reds, who beat them by one run on Friday and did it all over again 5-4 on Saturday. One thing about this Twins team:... Continue Reading »

How do you like the Twins now?

I must admit I was among those Twins fans who predicted doom and gloom for this team after the cost-cutting, the modest free-agent spending and an underwhelming exhibition season. And yet look at them now. The Twins at 9-7 are tied for first place in the AL Central and have scored the second most runs... Continue Reading »

Hi, I’m Rolf Boone, Twins fan.

I became a fan of the Minnesota Twins after a friendly wager in the early 1980s. I survived Ron Davis, the meltdown in Cleveland, Phil Bradley at the Kingdome and then marveled at a rising generation of stars and two World Series wins in 1987 and 1991. Brad Radke made the 1990s bearable, while Kirby Puckett’s eye injury, exit from the game and eventual death made it almost too much to bear. The new century ushered in more talent — Joe Mauer, Johan Santana, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau — and consecutive seasons of playoff baseball, followed by consecutive seasons of losing baseball. A winning season returned in 2015. So here we are. Go Twins.
