Twins end 2026 season on winning note. Now what?

The Twins won their final series of the 2026 season over the Texas Rangers, including a 6-4 win on Sunday. The Twins wrap things up with a 77-85 record, good enough for third place in the American League Central. Was it a good season? In many ways, yes. After the Twins traded away all of... Twins, Ryan lose again

The good news: Pitcher Joe Ryan can still get guys out as he fanned seven in his return to the mound from the injured list on Monday. The bad news: Ryan coughed up three early runs (two earned) and the Twins never fully recovered in a 5-4 loss to the Tigers in Game 1 of... Continue Reading »

What the doctor ordered: The Athletics

Despite a late-in-the-game rally, the Twins got exactly what they needed on Monday, a convincing 9-6 win over the Oakland/West Sacramento/Las Vegas A’s to snap a three-game losing streak. And every player got into the act with at least one hit. Leading the way were Byron Buxton and rookie Kaelen Culpepper. Buck had a 3-for-5... Continue Reading »

Forget the Phillies: Twins bounce back with series win over Braves

After a terrible sweep at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Twins have shaken off their National League struggles with a series win over the Atlanta Braves, including Tuesday’s 4-1 win. The American League is so bunched up that with those two wins, the Twins now find themselves in second place in the AL... Continue Reading »

The season is slipping away, Twins fans

When eminent historians look back at what happened to the 2026 Minnesota Twins, they’ll point to a spit and baling wire bullpen, key injuries to pitchers and position players, a slow start from Royce Lewis and the team’s struggles against the Senior Circuit, otherwise known as the National League. One might find it hard to... Continue Reading »

Ask and you shall receive: Twins win

As I said in my previous post, I urged the Twins to make hay against the Baltimore Orioles because they are about to face three good National League teams in the Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres. Why is this so important? The Twins are 13-23 against the National League this season, according... Continue Reading »

Top prospect homers in debut, Twins win 8-6

After the Twins scored a grand total of seven runs across their previous three games, the Twins got back on track Friday with an eight-run outburst, courtesy of 13 hits, to edge the Milwaukee Brewers, the National League’s best team — by win-loss record, anyway — 8-6. The Twins fell behind early, but then reeled... Continue Reading »

Hi, I’m Rolf Boone, Twins fan.

I became a fan of the Minnesota Twins after a friendly wager in the early 1980s. I survived Ron Davis, the meltdown in Cleveland, Phil Bradley at the Kingdome and then marveled at a rising generation of stars and two World Series wins in 1987 and 1991. Brad Radke made the 1990s bearable, while Kirby Puckett’s eye injury, exit from the game and eventual death made it almost too much to bear. The new century ushered in more talent — Joe Mauer, Johan Santana, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau — and consecutive seasons of playoff baseball, followed by consecutive seasons of losing baseball. A winning season returned in 2015. So here we are. Go Twins.
