Twins end 2026 season on winning note. Now what?

The Twins won their final series of the 2026 season over the Texas Rangers, including a 6-4 win on Sunday. The Twins wrap things up with a 77-85 record, good enough for third place in the American League Central. Was it a good season? In many ways, yes. After the Twins traded away all of... You know what the Twins need? Byron Buxton

It’s pretty simple, really: The Twins have a winning record with Byron Buxton in the lineup and a losing one without him, which explains why the club dropped its third straight series on Sunday, losing 4-3 to the Milwaukee Brewers and flame-throwing righty Jake Misiorowski, a pitcher who regularly throws at 100 miles per hour... From 1 hit to walk-off grand slam. Twins are living right

Royce Lewis hit a walk-off triple to win Game 1 of the Twins’ three-game series against the Kansas City Royals, and Kody Clemens capped it with one of the biggest hits in Twins history, a bases loaded walk-off grand slam to give the Twins an unbelievable 4-3 win after they were flat out dead for... Twins offense steps up as bullpen takes a step back

After only four runs were scored in the first two games, the Twins finally found their stroke again on Sunday to outlast the West Sacramento A’s (or whatever you want to call them) 11-8 to win the game and the series. The Twins scored those 11 runs on 13 hits, getting nine of them from... Continue Reading »

Twins win again. Can they do it?

The Twins won again on Tuesday, getting a 3-1 victory at home over the never-easy-to-beat Cleveland Guardians. That’s three wins in a row for Minnesota. They also are 7-3 in their last three games, two games under .500, three games back in the AL Central division and 1.5 games back in the Wild Card hunt.... Continue Reading »

Happy birthday, USA. Twins rout Yanks, 11-4

It’s the best kind of Independence Day celebration for this fan because the Twins, a team that usually wilts when facing the New York Yankees, found its footing again on Saturday and showed off the American League’s best run-scoring offense by clobbering six home runs in an 11-4 rout of the Bronx Bombers at the... Can the Twins beat the Yankees? I say they can

It almost seems like a cruel joke that the gods would schedule the Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees as the country is about to turn 250 years old, but those are the facts as the Twins get set to take on their arch-rival over the weekend. But here are some more facts: Incredibly —... Continue Reading »

Bullpen finally shows up to give Twins series win over Rockies

The three-game series with the Colorado Rockies put the Twins’ spit and baling wire bullpen under the microscope, and the results are still a work in progress. The bullpen coughed up multiple runs on Friday and Saturday, but on Sunday Andrew Morris, Anthony Banda and Yoendrys Gomez — I think the Twins have found a... Continue Reading »

Take it from the Twins: If you can’t pitch, hit

The Twins went toe-to-toe with the St. Louis Cardinals at Target Field Friday night and finally outslugged the Red Birds for a 9-8 win in Game 1 of their weekend series. Consistently winning by outslugging your opponent isn’t a proven winning strategy unless, of course, you’re the 1927 New York Yankees, but even that team... Continue Reading »

Hi, I’m Rolf Boone, Twins fan.

I became a fan of the Minnesota Twins after a friendly wager in the early 1980s. I survived Ron Davis, the meltdown in Cleveland, Phil Bradley at the Kingdome and then marveled at a rising generation of stars and two World Series wins in 1987 and 1991. Brad Radke made the 1990s bearable, while Kirby Puckett’s eye injury, exit from the game and eventual death made it almost too much to bear. The new century ushered in more talent — Joe Mauer, Johan Santana, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau — and consecutive seasons of playoff baseball, followed by consecutive seasons of losing baseball. A winning season returned in 2015. So here we are. Go Twins.
