Twins end 2026 season on winning note. Now what?

The Twins won their final series of the 2026 season over the Texas Rangers, including a 6-4 win on Sunday. The Twins wrap things up with a 77-85 record, good enough for third place in the American League Central. Was it a good season? In many ways, yes. After the Twins traded away all of... The Twins held on for a 3-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, leveling the series at a game apiece and marking a milestone for starting pitcher Taj Bradley. Bradley struck out six batters across six innings to give him 205 strikeouts this season. He becomes the 10th pitcher in Twins history to... Continue Reading »

This Twins season can’t end soon enough

What a disappointment the 2026 Minnesota Twins season has been. The Twins on Thursday fell to 15-27 since July after they lost 5-4 in extra innings to the Los Angeles Angels in Game 1 of a new but likely disappointing series. Starter Taj Bradley served up three quick runs, but the Twins rallied with three... Continue Reading »

Twins’ Matthews perfect in August with 5-1 win over Chisox

The Twins avoided being swept at home on Sunday, getting eight-plus strong innings from starter Daniel Zebulon Matthews to beat the Chicago White Sox 5-1. It was a good win for Matthews, and he finishes August with an unblemished 5-0 record, but overall it was a hugely disappointing series because the Twins did little to... Continue Reading »

Twins can’t escape first-inning curse, drop series to M’s

The Twins showed a lot of fight in their series loss to the M’s, but asking them to come from behind in every game is a tall order. They pulled it off on Friday — their only win in the series — and came up short in the next two games, both back-to-back walk-off losses,... Continue Reading »

Not ‘sellers’ yet as Twins split series with Guards

The Twins survived a dominant performance from Cleveland Guardians pitcher Gavin Williams, then scored three runs off one of the league’s best bullpens to edge the Guards in a classic Minnesota/Cleveland nail-biter 3-1 in 12 innings on Thursday. The win earned the Twins a split of the four-game series with Cleveland. It wasn’t a sweep... Continue Reading »

Happy birthday, USA. Twins rout Yanks, 11-4

It’s the best kind of Independence Day celebration for this fan because the Twins, a team that usually wilts when facing the New York Yankees, found its footing again on Saturday and showed off the American League’s best run-scoring offense by clobbering six home runs in an 11-4 rout of the Bronx Bombers at the... Can the Twins beat the Yankees? I say they can

It almost seems like a cruel joke that the gods would schedule the Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees as the country is about to turn 250 years old, but those are the facts as the Twins get set to take on their arch-rival over the weekend. But here are some more facts: Incredibly —... Continue Reading »

Twins win big, rout Diamondbacks 16-8

Byron Buxton hit a grand slam in the Twins’ runaway win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, but it was the bottom of the order that really put on a show. The six through nine hitters: Brooks Lee, Victor Caratini, Luke Keaschall and Ryan Kreidler were a combined  13-for-21 (.619) with 11 runs scored and... Continue Reading »

Hi, I’m Rolf Boone, Twins fan.

I became a fan of the Minnesota Twins after a friendly wager in the early 1980s. I survived Ron Davis, the meltdown in Cleveland, Phil Bradley at the Kingdome and then marveled at a rising generation of stars and two World Series wins in 1987 and 1991. Brad Radke made the 1990s bearable, while Kirby Puckett’s eye injury, exit from the game and eventual death made it almost too much to bear. The new century ushered in more talent — Joe Mauer, Johan Santana, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau — and consecutive seasons of playoff baseball, followed by consecutive seasons of losing baseball. A winning season returned in 2015. So here we are. Go Twins.
