Will the Twins now lose 7 games in a row?

If the Twins’ 2025 season is a mirror image of last season — and so far it has been with a slow start and long winning streak — then I suppose we should brace ourselves for a losing streak because that’s exactly what happened in 2024. After the Twins won 12 straight last season, they... Continue Reading »

Twins win big, get terrible news about Kid Keaschall

Never mind the Twins win over the Angels Friday night because they lost rookie Luke Keaschall to a serious injury after he was hit by a pitch that fractured his right forearm. It’s a major blow because Kid Keaschall appeared to be all that you want in a top rookie prospect: He hit, he stole... Continue Reading »

Credit Buxton with the ‘save’ as Twins edge White Sox

The box score for Tuesday’s tilt between the Twins and White Sox will show that closer Jhoan Duran picked up his second save of the season. But it most likely would have been a blown save if not for some game-saving heroics from center fielder extraordinaire Byron Buxton. With two men on and two outs... Continue Reading »

Twins swept by Braves, get White Sox next (thank God)

The Twins, somewhat incredibly, earned a series win over the New York Mets and appeared to have a little momentum headed into their three-game series against a struggling Atlanta Braves team. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to pick up some additional ground in the AL Central. Instead, the Braves got their season back on... Continue Reading »

Kid Keaschall impresses in disastrous Twins loss

Twins top prospect Luke Keaschall made his major league debut on Friday and he impressed in more ways than one. Not only did the 22-year-old record his first major league hit, he also hit his first double, scored his first run, drove in his first run and stole a base. Now, if only the Twins... Twins’ France is having some kind of spring, folks

Ty France had two more hits on Saturday — a double and home run — to lift his average to .550 and help the Twins edge the Boston Red Sox, 9-8. Overall, he is slashing .550/.591/1.641 with 11 hits, two home runs and eight RBI. The only question for France is whether any of this... Continue Reading »

Hi, I’m Rolf Boone, Twins fan.

I became a fan of the Minnesota Twins after a friendly wager in the early 1980s. I survived Ron Davis, the meltdown in Cleveland, Phil Bradley at the Kingdome and then marveled at a rising generation of stars and two World Series wins in 1987 and 1991. Brad Radke made the 1990s bearable, while Kirby Puckett’s eye injury, exit from the game and eventual death made it almost too much to bear. The new century ushered in more talent — Joe Mauer, Johan Santana, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau — and consecutive seasons of playoff baseball, followed by consecutive seasons of losing baseball. A winning season returned in 2015. So here we are. Go Twins.
