It’s over, Twins Territory. What now?

The Twins ended their 2025 campaign at 70-92 on Sunday with a 2-1 loss in 10 innings to the Philadelphia Phillies, winners of the National League East. The question now is: What’s next for these Twins? There are a lot of question marks about this team, especially the bullpen, but the starting rotation looked good... Continue Reading »

There it is: 90 losses and counting for Twins

Twins starting pitcher Zebby Matthews rebounded nicely on Tuesday and Taj Bradley followed suit, allowing just a run over six innings with nine strikeouts on Wednesday. But the bullpen got into trouble again and this time the Texas Rangers emerged with a 4-2 win. Reliever Travis Adams followed Bradley and promptly served up single, single,... Continue Reading »

There it is: 20 games under .500

The Twins lost the game, they lost the series and now they are 20 games under .500 after a 10-5 defeat to the Yankees on Wednesday. The Twins have four games versus the Cleveland Guardians this weekend, including a doubleheader on Saturday, and then it’s three games at Texas and three more at Philadelphia to... Twins’ Clemens leads the charge, but bullpen blows up again

Which would you rather focus on? Kody Clemens’ three home run night, Kid Keaschall’s game-winning sacrifice fly or another off night for the Twins’ bullpen? Despite the fireworks, it’s hard to look past the state of this team’s relief corps. And all of its problems land squarely on ownership and management. Is this what they... Continue Reading »

The worst team in the AL? It just might be the Twins

For the first time ever, the Chicago White Sox have swept a four-game series from the Twins at home, adding grave insult to an already terrible year. Twins’ Bradley bounces back. Now, about the rest of the game…

The Twins’ Taj Bradley, who had a rough outing in his first start for the Twins, bounced back in a big way on Saturday by allowing just a run across five innings. But baseball games are not five inning affairs, so after Bradley stepped aside the Twins sunk faster than the Titanic. Portland native Mick... Continue Reading »

2 new Twins pitchers struggle in their team debuts

The Twins got a firsthand look at two new pitching prospects over the weekend and things did not go well, resulting in a series loss to the Chicago White Sox. On Sunday, Taj Bradley, who came to the Twins in the deal that sent reliever Griffin Jax to the Tampa Bay Rays, got the ball... Continue Reading »

Hi, I’m Rolf Boone, Twins fan.

I became a fan of the Minnesota Twins after a friendly wager in the early 1980s. I survived Ron Davis, the meltdown in Cleveland, Phil Bradley at the Kingdome and then marveled at a rising generation of stars and two World Series wins in 1987 and 1991. Brad Radke made the 1990s bearable, while Kirby Puckett’s eye injury, exit from the game and eventual death made it almost too much to bear. The new century ushered in more talent — Joe Mauer, Johan Santana, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau — and consecutive seasons of playoff baseball, followed by consecutive seasons of losing baseball. A winning season returned in 2015. So here we are. Go Twins.
