Twins end 2026 season on winning note. Now what?

The Twins won their final series of the 2026 season over the Texas Rangers, including a 6-4 win on Sunday. The Twins wrap things up with a 77-85 record, good enough for third place in the American League Central. Was it a good season? In many ways, yes. After the Twins traded away all of... Twins earn rare series win over National League team

It’s been a strange season when it comes to the Minnesota Twins and the National League. The Twins took the series from the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday with a 4-2 win, but it only “improved” their record against the Senior Circuit to 18-30. And series wins were rare. In fact, the Twins usually came... Continue Reading »

Twins lose ugly, cough up four runs late in 6-5 defeat

The Twins took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the 8th inning on Saturday, and then watched it all slip away as the bullpen struggled again in a 6-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels in 11 innings. The Twins have been eliminated from playoff contention in the American League Central and are a... Continue Reading »

This Twins season can’t end soon enough

What a disappointment the 2026 Minnesota Twins season has been. The Twins on Thursday fell to 15-27 since July after they lost 5-4 in extra innings to the Los Angeles Angels in Game 1 of a new but likely disappointing series. Starter Taj Bradley served up three quick runs, but the Twins rallied with three... Continue Reading »

Winding down the season with another Twins loss, part 78

The Cleveland Guardians in many ways should not have a winning record. Coming into Friday’s game against the Twins, they were below league average in runs per game (4.07), below league average in runs scored (598) and dead last in home runs with 138. But the one thing the Guards seem to be very good... Continue Reading »

What the doctor ordered: The Athletics

Despite a late-in-the-game rally, the Twins got exactly what they needed on Monday, a convincing 9-6 win over the Oakland/West Sacramento/Las Vegas A’s to snap a three-game losing streak. And every player got into the act with at least one hit. Leading the way were Byron Buxton and rookie Kaelen Culpepper. Buck had a 3-for-5... Continue Reading »

Forget the Phillies: Twins bounce back with series win over Braves

After a terrible sweep at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Twins have shaken off their National League struggles with a series win over the Atlanta Braves, including Tuesday’s 4-1 win. The American League is so bunched up that with those two wins, the Twins now find themselves in second place in the AL... Continue Reading »

It’s about time the Twins’ Roden had a good game

Twins outfielder Alan Roden came into Wednesday’s rubber match with the Baltimore Orioles hitting .192, and I was about to start calling for his head if he had another poor showing at the plate. But those calls have been put on hold after Roden went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored, an RBI and... Continue Reading »

Top prospect homers in debut, Twins win 8-6

After the Twins scored a grand total of seven runs across their previous three games, the Twins got back on track Friday with an eight-run outburst, courtesy of 13 hits, to edge the Milwaukee Brewers, the National League’s best team — by win-loss record, anyway — 8-6. The Twins fell behind early, but then reeled... Continue Reading »

Hi, I’m Rolf Boone, Twins fan.

I became a fan of the Minnesota Twins after a friendly wager in the early 1980s. I survived Ron Davis, the meltdown in Cleveland, Phil Bradley at the Kingdome and then marveled at a rising generation of stars and two World Series wins in 1987 and 1991. Brad Radke made the 1990s bearable, while Kirby Puckett’s eye injury, exit from the game and eventual death made it almost too much to bear. The new century ushered in more talent — Joe Mauer, Johan Santana, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau — and consecutive seasons of playoff baseball, followed by consecutive seasons of losing baseball. A winning season returned in 2015. So here we are. Go Twins.
