Talk about a carbon copy of last season. The Twins got off to a slow start in 2024 and then reeled off 12 straight wins.
And now they’ve done it again.
The Twins had a terrible April and yet it’s 10 wins in a row after a double-header sweep of the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.

That’s right: They are 10-0 in their last ten games and have improved to 23-20 on the season, which is a game behind the Royals for third place in the AL Central division.
The Twins rallied from deficits to win both games.
They won ugly in Game 1 because Twins pitching issued six base on balls and team infielders committed four errors, but Brooks Lee and Christian Vazquez hit home runs to take a 4-3 lead, then Trevor Larnach drove in a run on an extra-base hit and came around to score on a wild pitch to give the Twins a 6-3 win.
In Game 2, the Twins raced out to a 4-0 lead, then watched as Twins starter Simeon Woods Richardson served up back to back dingers, including a grand slam, to make it 6-4 O’s. But there’s no quit in this team at the moment.
Willi Castro hit a solo shot to cut the lead to 6-5, and then the very light-hitting Kody Clemens stepped up and hit a three-run blast in the eighth inning for another Twins win, 8-6.
They go for their 11th straight win Thursday. Chris Paddack gets the ball.
Extra innings…
–Twins starting pitching got knocked around in both games, but the bullpen was unhittable, delivering four-plus scoreless innings in Game 1 and five shutout frames in Game 2.
Reliever Brock Stewart struck out the side and picked up the win in Game 1, while the save went to Jhoan Duran, his eighth. In Game 2, Kody Funderburk was credited with the win and Cole Sands earned his first save of the season.
–The four errors: Two fielding and two throwing.
–The Orioles won 101 games in 2023, 91 in 2024 and yet here they are at 15-26 in 2025. I’d hate to see them become the St. Louis Browns all over again. The O’s (Browns) lost 110 games in 2021, 108 in 2019 and an ugly 115 games in 2018.
–On that note: How many games are the Colorado Rockies going to lose? They currently are 7-36.
